Police hunt for two men after assault on train
BRITISH Transport Police have released cctv images in a bid to locate two men who assaulted passengers after getting on at Weston-super-Mare.
A group of men boarded the train at 6.37pm on November 22 and two then assaulted passengers who tried to intervene when two of them pulled the emergency stop cord when the train arrived at Highbridge and Burnham station.
It is believed the men intended to travel to Bristol but had boarded the train to Taunton by mistake.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Richard Day, said: "A group of three men in their late teens or early twenties boarded the 1837hrs service to Taunton at Weston-super-Mare rail station.

"When the train arrived at Highbridge and Burnham station, two of the men pulled the Emergency Stop Alarm. A number of other passengers tried to intervene but the men began assaulting them.
"It is believed the men had intended to travel to Bristol but had boarded the train to Taunton by mistake.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the men and I am now appealing for anyone who recognises then men in these photographs to contact BTP, as I believe they will both have key information which can assist this investigation."
