Police move to 'friendlier' town hall base in Weston-Super-Mare
WESTON-SUPER-MARE police station's inquiry office is to close – and move to the newly refurbished Town Hall.
The changes, which will come into force on January 2, will see the office move but the local neighbourhood and response teams continue to be based at the police station.

Police say the move to the town hall, which has just undergone a £9.7-million refurbishment, will make it easier for people to access more public services in one place.
It will enable the opening hours of the town hall to extend so police, council and library services will be available for longer and at weekends.

North Somerset District Commander Chief Superintendent Julian Moss said: "Providing police and council services in one central location will make it easier for local people to access our services.
"The town hall is a welcoming and a much friendlier environment for our customers and by working with the council, our aim is to provide a better and more joined up service.
"As cuts to the public sector hit, we need to take the opportunity to look at the way we provide our services so we can maintain them by doing things differently."
