Police foil plans for illegal New Year's Eve rave
Police have seized sound equipment intended for use at an illegal rave in Bristol.
The equipment was seized by officers late last night, who believe it was due to be used at a rave planned at the former Babcock Test Facility in Chapel Street, where groups of youths were congregating.

“Another waste of time really, not a residental area. Especially as there was a night going on at Motion anyhow. Time spent protecting the interest of Bristol citizens would've been more beneficial.”

“I wonder how many violent unprovoked alcohol related assaults were committed last night and how many of the offenders will ever be caught and face justice?
How many people woke up to find their cars vandalised by drunks coming home from pubs and clubs? How many of those will be caught?
Well who cares eh?
Well done to the police for confiscating a record player and some speakers. Hope you sent those naughty ravers to bed early with no supper too.”

“To be honest - this one really seems to have been a long way from any residential area.
Usually they are not and would then totally support confiscation of equipment.”

“Bloody subversive and oppressive behaviour by CaMORONS jackbooted stormtroopers acting as if in honour of Thatcherite class warfare politics!!!!!!!"
------------------------------------------------
They're certainly not that. Cameron (and the Tories) and the police service in general detest each other.
They were acting on behalf of the majority of ordinary people living nearby who would have been, with some reason if history is a guide with such events, considerably disturbed and would have been equally vehement in their condemnation of police inaction as you appear to be with the action that was taken.
Incidentally, can we expect to see the police and crime commissioner attending such incidents?
Having seen her kitted out in a police high-vis jacket before the tv cameras at a police breath test scene and telling us all what the operation was all about I quite thought that she had appointed herself chief constable.
Perhaps we can expect the chair of the fire authority next, bedecked in fireman's kit at the top of a ladder directing operations at the scene of a fire.”

“Why did they not pitch up at Ashton Vale and hold the rave on the TG/VG . It is claimed by locals that it has been used for recreational use for the last 20 yrs perfect for a rave then.”

“When there's a story highlighting the fact of police spending only 10% of there time on the beat doing frontline duties, I find this article only compounds the issues of everything that is wrong with society today!
There are robberies, murders and violent assaults happening continuously and without too much resistance, and on a more frequent basis, and all the "powers that be" are concerned with is stopping a group of people from what can be deemed as a counter culture enjoying themselves for a few hours, and at what cost?
Bloody subversive and oppressive behaviour by CaMORONS jackbooted stormtroopers acting as if in honour of Thatcherite class warfare politics!!!!!!!”
