Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Stapleton Road, Bristol that left a 30-year-old with a broken nose and extensive bruises to his face.

It happened at around 3.30am on Saturday, October 13. The victim was knocked down by three men and then further attacked on the ground.

Police are keen to talk to anyone who witnessed the assault, particularly a taxi driver who went to the man's aid and gave him a lift away from the incident. There was also a large party taking place nearby, and it is possible that people there may have information.

Anyone who can help is asked to call the police on 101 or via http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact/crime_reporting/

“Oh come on. Violence in Stapleton Road doesn't have to be racially oriented. I'm sure it may happen but the area has commendably diversified into all forms of crime any of which might lead to a bit of a scuffle......”

“Maybe that is why they are appealing for witnesses? So they can help with descriptions of the attackers? Seems like common sense to me.

“Hmmm, yes, mysteriously without descriptions again. I'll have to make an assumption then!”

“No description of the assailants and not described as "racially motivated" so i'm guessing the victim was white and the attackers weren't?”
