Police have named a teenager who was stabbed to death outside a pub in Bristol.

Detectives said 17-year-old Shevon Wilson was stabbed in the chest during a fight outside the World's End pub in Clouds Hill Road, St George.

Three men are currently being questioned by police. The road past the pub, between Holmes Hill Road and Whiteway Road, was closed by police while forensic teams examined the scene.

On Saturday crowds of youngsters started arriving to put flowers down where Shevon Wilson died.

One card said: "'Shev, rest in peace. Going to miss you. Lots of love, Yaz and family.''

Another read: "'Shev, you were one of the best, from Kyle Thomas and family.''

A friend, who did not wish to be named, said: "He's a good boy and I've known him for years. He would always walk away from a fight, and he would never start on someone unless he got started on."

Regulars at the Worlds End said a gangs came to the area ''looking for trouble".

One regular, who did not wish to be named, said: "'There's been a lot of trouble in the area recently with this gang. They've been threatening people around here for ages."

Avon and Somerset police inspector Julie Bowle said: "At about 1am an altercation occurred outside the World's End pub. A 17-year-old was stabbed in the chest and later died in hospital of his injuries.

"A 23-year-old received hospital treatment and was later released into police custody to help police with their inquiries.

"Two other men, aged 18 and 20, are also being questioned in connection with this incident.

"A young man needlessly lost his life in this tragic incident. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family at this very difficult time.

"There are a number of lines of inquiry that the investigation team are pursuing to establish the motive behind this incident and is imperative that we find out exactly what happened.

"A number of people were present outside the pub between 12.30am and 1.30am. It is crucial that we speak to all those people as they may have vital information that may help.

"We have a number of officers working on this investigation and a designated incident room has been set up.

"I'm urging anyone who may have witnessed this incident, has information or was in the vicinity at the time to come forward."

She said information could be given by phoning CID on 0845 456 7000 or the Crimestoppers number 0800 555111.

Tributes to Shevon Wilson can be made at Lasting Tribute.

“i was just wondering if the friends of shevon sprayed painted RIP Shev on his parents house or any of there own houses if No Why Not? Everyone Knows when somebody has been stabbed every second is vital so why did Some of the people he was with not let sam try to save his life what were they trying to achieve by this? The man who murdered this young boy is being dealt with in the correct way but what about the group shevon was with, The police say they are already aware of this group but do nothing as yet which makes people feel they want to take it into there own hands, who will be hurt next?someone they are causing trouble with or one of them? also there is no harm with paying respect to where the flowers lay but for some of them who are sat there smoking drugs and drinking alcohol when majority is under age what does tell you about SOME of this group? deepest sympathy's with shevons family”

    “R.i.P Shev
You will be truly missed by all your friends and familys and even those who didn't know you but who's tragic story has touched their hearts. you had your whole life ahead of you but it was sadly taken away from heartless teenagers. Rest in Peace Hun, My Heart goes out to your family and close friends.

I Also would like to ask Jimbo - Shut Your Face! you have got to be the most selfish, self centred, heartless prat in the word! who are you to judge Shev when you've never even met him! just because a teenager is out late then attacked doesnt instantly make it his fault! my young disabled brother was beaten and mugged by a gang whilst going for a pint of milk! so no its not the parents fault or shevs, so i seriously think you just shove off and respect shev and his family but not leaving your rotten comments when its got nothing to do with you!”

“i understand that this is a column for comments about the story not a tribute page, my deepest sympathy to the boys family for there loss, if this young man had not been hanging around with this bad crowed he may still be with his family now,i don't believe what time he was out is a problem at all if he was in the right company! i read a comment on this page that read along the lines of they call there self speedwell crew...etc i also have been physically attacked with weapons by these lads for no reason in broad day light as passed and they didnt even know me nor i of them until then, which i understand that this is NOT unusual behavior from some of this group, i agree there must be some justice for the man using the knife but also this group is not totally Innocent! and has got a young man caught up with there ways. Again my thoughts are with the family.”

“I don't understand why some people commenting on this are trying to pick arguements with others. If we want to pay our respects on this page, we will. It is a sad loss and for people to be petty about things is disgusting.”

“"P.s do you live in one of those knocking shops in Old Market?"

I think it is fair to say Oscar Wilde would not be impressed by that particular witty barb.

You have inadvertently answered my question, by continuing to post under a series of pseudonyms, clearly you are getting something out of this.

Sadly that something would appear to be the vindictive thrill of upseting a group of people who wish only to mourn and pay tribute to a young man who has been senselessly killed.

This suggests to me that you are a deeply inadequate nasty person, and that to continue to talk to you would be a waste of effort and time, so I won't.

    again RIP to Shevon.”

“That wasn't my point .. I don't understand why people have always got something bad to say just as someone has died. These types of comments are not needed. I am the same age as these people commenting so branding ' the fact that not a single one of them can spell' is slightly over the top. I have not made a schoolboy error, I have read the comments and this is not the time or the place to be writing about the spelling errors or whatever! Don't blame us blame the education system for god sakes!”
