"The table has already been extremely busy with people preparing to work up a sweat after their visit to Brunel's ss Great Britain.

"I would urge people to get down here and give it a go. It is a great activity for everyone, whatever their age or fitness level."

The table at Brunel Square is open 24 hours a day, and staff from Brunel's ss Great Britain place bats and balls on the table during opening hours (from 10am to 5.30pm).

'Ping! Bristol' launched with a ping pong bonanza on June 29 at Bristol's Anchor Square.

Summer events throughout Bristol will include table tennis show matches, dressing-up fun and prizes.

'Ping! Bristol' is backed by National Lottery funding from Sport England, and is in association with Bristol City Council.
