Not so much a top performance as an unfortunate one this week as both Bristol-based runner Michael Johnson and Westbury Harriers' Julian Hatcher fought a tremendous duel in the opening Blaise Blazer event on Monday – only to be disqualified!

There was little to choose between the pair over Blaise Castle's three biggest hills but despite a tremendous race, one of the best ever seen in the event, the result did not stand because the pair had mistaken the route over Kings Weston Down, and cut out a large section of the course.

Consequently Andrew Harrison was awarded the winner's prize with Bristol & West AC's Holly Williamson winning the women's race.
