Pensioner robbed of handbag in Bradley Stoke

AN elderly woman was robbed of her handbag as she bent down to tend to a pain in one of her legs.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crime on Wheatfield Drive, Bradley Stoke.

Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman said Catherine Foster said: "The victim, a 72-year-old, bent down after feeling a pain in her leg and as she did so her handbag was stolen by a teenage boy riding a bicycle.

"The offender is described as aged between 16 and 18, with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey top and black trousers with something red underneath his top."
