Pedal power to take centre stage at Bristol's Trinity Centre
A stage powered by bicycles is being built at the Trinity Centre this week.
The building of the stage is being organised by Project Bicyclette, and the aim is to take the completed stage to festivals with the intention of educating young people about reusable energy.
Alongside the building of the stage, there will be other events, including circus skills, guitar, dance and drumming workshops and drama courses.
Ruth Royall, spokeswoman for Project Bicyclette, said: "This week is giving kids and young people the opportunity to learn about reusable energy and teach them how to produce it themselves.
"We will be showing kids how to look after their planet and have some fun in the process. After all, they are going to be the ones living in it.
"A lot of press about the state of our planet can be very depressing for people to hear.
"This project is still getting across the message but in a more lighthearted way. We are showing that there can be something done about it."
Project Bicyclette takes place at the Trinity Centre from tomorrow until Sunday, when the completed stage and bicycle-powered generator will play host to music and games.
The project takes place each day from 10am to 4pm.
Those attending are requested to bring a packed lunch as food is not provided.
