Taunton Town 0 Paulton Rovers 2: Paulton bounced back from their home defeat by Cirencester on Saturday to beat local rivals Taunton in Division One South and West of the Zamaretto League last night.

Having drawn at Gosport at the weekend, this was a disappointing result for Taunton, who did not liven up until the last 20 minutes.

Paulton won it with two goals in a six-minute spell in the first half.

Ashley Caldwell's shot put them ahead in the 20th minute and then Chris Lane took advantage of a mistake by Owen Irish to make it 2-0 on 26 minutes.

Taunton rarely functioned as an attacking force, although Irish had a shot saved by Paulton keeper Steve Perrin in the 75th minute.
