Paulton Rovers 3, Bideford 1: Paulton Rovers had a comfortable preliminary round victory over unbeaten Toolstation Premier Division Bideford to set up a home tie against Tiverton Town in the FA Cup first qualifying round.

Paulton started strongly and took a ninth-minute lead when Dean Pendry's cross into the area deceived goalkeeper Ryan Draper and ended up in the back of the net.

The Bideford defence was breached again just before half time, Jamie Taylor beating Draper with a well-taken header

Three minutes into the second half, Paulton added a third with a superbly-struck volley from the impressive Rob Claridge.

Kevin Squire netted a consolation for the visitors in the closing minutes.

Rovers striker Ricky Hulbert has joined Toolstation Larkhall Athletic, but manager Andy Jones is hoping to sign a new forward to strengthen the squad in time for Saturday's game at North Leigh.
