Carers are being recognised with a series of events next week to give the people they look after a chance to say thank you.

Paul's Place, a charity for physically disabled adults based in Coalpit Heath, will be celebrating carers with a week of afternoon events from June 8-12.

They are expecting to welcome about 400 carers who are involved with the work that Paul's Place does.

The afternoons will include a buffet lunch, a range of relaxing and rejuvenating "pamper sessions" including Indian head massages and manicures, and a local schools string quartet or an acoustic guitarist playing music.

An afternoon cream tea will be provided to complete the afternoon, and every carer will receive a thank-you card sent to their home even if they are unable to attend one of the Paul's Place lunches.
