CHILDREN took part in a host of activities as part of an English Week at Brentry Primary School.

Parents of pupils attended a phonics open morning yesterday, enjoying breakfast at the school before joining in a lesson with their child.

On Monday, children from the reception class to Year 4 visited Henbury Library before children's author Tracy Alexander, pictured, visited the school to speak to Year 2 pupils in the afternoon.

There was a bedtime story event in the evening, when children listened to bedtime stories in their pyjamas while sipping hot chocolate.
