Parents of Bristol teen Shevon Wilson speak out
The parents of teenager Shevon Wilson, who was stabbed to death outside a St George pub, have spoken of their devastation at his loss.
A statement was released on behalf of the family by Avon and Somerset police on Friday.
It reads: "There are no words that can explain the devastation that we are all experiencing now for the tragic loss of our son Shevon.
"Shev' was a credit to his family, a son to be proud of, kind and considerate, and an inspiration to so many people in his life.
"He attended school every day and did the best he could to achieve his GCSE grades, which enabled him to get an apprenticeship as a heavy goods mechanic.
"He was a true, loyal, honest son, and had a good influence within his group of friends, which had a positive impact on everyone.
"Our son enjoyed basketball, football and visiting the gym, he also had a passion for music that he shared with his friends.
"He will always be remembered as a strong, positive, loyal young man, and all his good ways and values, morals and respect, will live on through his family and friends.
"As a family we are so proud of him and we will never forget his lovely smile."
*Sam Lengfeld, 23, of Clovelly Close, St George, is accused of killing Shevon, 17, with a single stab wound to the heart outside the World's End Inn on Clouds Hill Road last weekend.
He died at Frenchay Hospital following a disturbance involving a number of young people.

“R.I.P Shevon, you were beautiful, smart and kind. You'll never be forgotten and we're all missing you.
I'll never forget the good times.
The people who post on this site being disrespectful don't matter. They didn't know the real you or your friends , who are decent and love you.
How people talk doesn't matter, what they do does'nt matter. At least they have enough decency and compassion in their hearts to remember and respect Shev's memory in the ways they see appropriate.
There was no gang v gang, just a disgusting attack on an innocent life. And the people that love and miss Shevon know the truth x”

“Reading all these comments I find it incredible that people on here seem more concerned about the accents people are putting on, the way they are spelling, the fact that because he was part of gang he somehow deserved this and so on. At the end of the day a young man has lost his life in such a senseless and brutal attack, his family¿s world has no doubt come crashing down around them. I know what his family is going through, my cousin too was murdered as a result of being stabbed to death this summer and I can tell you it is something I would never ever wish upon another family or even upon my worst enemy. It is so hard to try and pick up the pieces and move on with your life, knowing that your loved one is no longer around and that no matter how many tears you cry and how much you miss them it will never bring them back, you will never get to see them or speak to them again. It is even harder to comprehend that someone would want to murder them for no apparent reason. Like his family mine never got the chance to say goodbye, that is one of the most heartbreaking and difficult things to come to terms with. No doubt his family are going over the what ifs, replaying in their minds the last time they saw him etc. I hope his family can get answers and get justice for Shevon, it will be a long and harrowing journey ahead for them. I offer my heartfelt condolence to Shevon¿s family and friends, I hope they remember the happy times they have shared and the memories they have over the years of Shevon. He will live on forever in their hearts and in their minds, he will never be forgotten. I hope he is at peace now. R.I.P Shevon xxx”

“'vigillante,'(sic), you muppet, where has Mike Ford posted on this thread? You're obsessed with him, you maggot. Hero worship maybe? When I want your opinion, Kermit, I'll give it to you.
Lucy, Whitchurch, this isn't an obituaries site. End of. When I want a bird's opinion anyway, it'll be whether she prefers Blue Nun or Martini at the Berni Inn, or if she prefers Gene in Brut or Hai-Karate.
Savvy?”

“Lionel and vigillante I couldn't have put that better myself. These people should be banned from this site. It makes me so mad that they comment on stupid things like spelling etc when a 17 year old lad with his whole life ahead of him has been murdered. It makes me sick. They are all sad pathetic losers with nothing better to do with their lives. As for this Mike Ford, he is one off the worst people on this site but the BEP have published one of his articles! No respect what so ever. It's nice to know that the majority of people on this site are decent people. It's just a shame these mindless bullys think it's ok to write such nasty things on here. I would just love to meet one of these people in person! I bet everything I own they wouldn't be half as brave face to face :oP”

“I would suggest that any complaints ,should be directly put to (BEP).it would seem, that they both encourage and embrace, the acidic racist rantings of Mike ford and his imaginary entourage.”

“As a frequent reader of BEP, it infuriates and disgusts me how insensitive some people are. At the end of the day, a young life has been lost and all some of you are able to do, is to throw insults to the teenager and his family. I cannot believe how some people are so quick to criticise others and often end up insulting other readers. This is not the purpose of being able to comment on news stories and I think it is about time BEP started to monitor more closely the content of some people's comments.
Show some respect to Shev and his grieving family.”
