Early pressure told as they went ahead through Joseph McMurchie, while Henry Sweet and Stanley McCormick added two more before Clifton pulled one back when Nikhil Danhawool scored from a corner.
Sweet struck a fourth for Foxes before half-time, but again spirited Clifton continued to press and were rewarded with a Felix Manning goal.
A few nervous minutes followed for the Foxes until McMurchie added two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
A tense and exciting Under-12s Cup tie ended with Ashley Down running out 2-1 away winners over Thornbury Town, who had snatched a first-half lead.
Toby Walwin was unlucky not to equalise for Ashley, but Thornbury always posed a threat and a fine goalkeeping performance by Mario Lovatt-Garcia kept the visitors in the game.
Ashley created numerous chances in the second half, but they had to wait until the last five minutes to gain reward when Jack Lucas turned in a corner at the near post before, in the dying seconds, Jack Brunt completed the comeback with a well-struck shot from the edge of the area.
In the same competition, Sam Lawes fired four of the goals and Danny Wistow (2), Nick Blatchford and an own goal saw hosts Westbury Park Foxes overcome Shirehampton 8-2.
Bertie Powell's brace was of some consolation to the visitors.
Westbury Park were strong throughout, but Ollie Coles showed great vision, Harri Talfan-Davies and Harry Feehily were outstanding at centre-back, while keeper Owen Paton and man-of-the-match Lawes in midfield also stood out.
Kieran Davis and Matt Sands both bagged braces to go with Reece Lacey's strike as Wickwar Wanderers completed a 5-2 win at the expense of Bishopston United.
Meanwhile, in the Under-14 A Division Bishopston United A proved too strong in the end for gallant Tytherington Rocks as Danny Jaffar (2), Joe McKimm and Tom Johnson grabbed the goals to give them a 4-2 win over a travelling side, who replied through Josh Troke and Harry Brock.
Bishopston centre-halves Frankie Armstrong and Suhayl Ahmed were excellent in the face of a lively Rocks attack.
Elsewhere in the division, Thornbury Town A powered to a 9-2 away success against Southmead.Bristol In the Under-18 Combination, Cribbs Friends Life ran out 9-0 Bristol North Division winners against a spirited Bristol Rovers Supporters side who kept going, despite being reduced to nine players through injuries.
Alex Turnbull, Liam Clayton and Joe Leslie all bagged braces to go with goals by Adam Snook, Harry Long and Dan Williams.
Meanwhile, Highridge United marked an eagerly-awaited return to action with an entertaining 10-4 victory over Bristol Telephones. Jack Thompson (3), Bertie Kirk (2), Liam Constable, Otis Buxton, Shaun Young, Jordan Edwards and Bra Elvin grabbed the Highridge goals.
Jordan Hughes, Scott Harvey (2) and Kieran Hunt replied for Telephones.
