“"Western governments ... will lose the war against dealers unless efforts are switched to prevention and therapy... All penalties for drug users should be dropped ... Making drug abuse a crime is useless and even dangerous ... Every year we seize more and more drugs and arrest more and more dealers but at the same time the quantity available in our countries still increases... Police are losing the drug battle worldwide."
- Raymond Kendall, secretary general of Interpol, January 1994
"Narcotics police are an enormous, corrupt international bureaucracy... and now fund a coterie of researchers who provide them with 'scientific support'... fanatics who distort the legitimate research of others... The anti-marijuana campaign is a cancerous tissue of lies, undermining law enforcement, aggravating the drug problem, depriving the sick of needed help, and suckering well-intentioned conservatives and countless frightened parents."
- William F. Buckley”

“The law has to change so that we stop enriching criminals & stop wasting taxpayers money. How much will this raid & the prison time needlessly cost the taxpayer? The estimated net gain to the UK economy from legalised regulated cannabis is over 6 billion per year. Prohibition has failed badly, just as it did with alcohol in the US. It has increased crime, enriched the criminal world, ruined many lives through criminal records & taken freedom of choice away from the people.”

“Charlespk
I admit i smoke cannabis on weekends some times. Your once again making stupid comparisons, ''counterfeiter or smuggler''. Nope, im a cannabis smoker and PROUD. Hopefully the police are busy catching harmful criminals, instead of searching for comments on news reports hoping to find cannabis users.”

“Don't try and be smart.
I made a statement. . But If I was a counterfeiter or smuggler I certainly wouldn't be advertising on my presence on here. . Look at all the things Leveson exposed. . You can't be too careful.”

“Obviously when young women and girls go round the streets and into shops offering casual sex for £10, they don't want the money for bacon butties or alcohol.”
