PSV's Wynne heads the field at Landsend

Match Lake came up with the top two weights in round four of the Tony Rixon 'Float Only' Series of Six, fished on all lakes at Landsend Fisheries, near Wedmore.

Heading the scorecard was Bristol PSV's Eddy Wynne, who poled pellet onto the island ledge at 14.5 metres off Match 19 for 127-11-0 of carp to 8-0-0.

Craig Edmonds scraped into second place from Tony Page by 1-7-0. Edmunds poled paste both into the island and lakeside margins at Match 22 for 112-7-0 of carp to almost 10lb, while Page fished the same bait into the island margins at 16 metres off Specimen 30 for a similar 111-0-0.

The top silverfish catch came from Specimen Lake and it was Colin Dyer who took the honours with 16-1-0 of skimmers and chub.

Warwick Arms AC beat Sensas Veals by 66-0-0 of fish in the interclub match, fished at Coking Farm, Gillingham, Dorset.

Heading the scoresheet was Sensas-sponsored Paul Isaacs, who poled paste at six metres and into the lakeside margins of peg 15 to tempt 101-4-0 of carp to 6lb. Top of the Warwick Arms scoresheet was Chris Gay, who finished second overall at peg 13 where he switched between a long and short pole with paste to tempt 95-2-0 of carp to 5lb.

Pete Powe snatched a late 32-10-0 victory despite making a bad start in the Kingswood Disabled and Over 55s match, fished on the Ivy House Match Lake at Grittenham, near Wootton Bassett.

His first attack was with a straight lead and 8mm hair-rigged pellet which he fished at 30 metres centre off peg 14. However, it wasn't until three hours later when he changed tack that he started catching seriously.

During the second half of the match he poled paste at three metres into his right hand lakeside margins to tempt 7-10-0 of silvers and 25-0-0 of carp.

Close behind came John Scrase, who poled maggot close to the far edge of a reed bed situated at eight metres off peg 12 for a 28-4-0 mixed bag.

Tom Bailey finished in third place overall and topped the silverfish category. He poled soft pellet straight out at nine metres off peg 23 and weighed-in 20-12-0 of silvers and 6-0-0 of small carp.
