“I'll be spending it as far away as possible from the moronic hoo-ha with a group of close friends. What's the big deal? Some people we don't know are getting married, and the nation goes into an extended period of prescribed hysterics. No thanks, you're welcome to it.”

Dear Mrs Dixon's first husband, I've only been married once, and he passed in 1984 so I don't think you're him !

Still I hope you have a lovely day but I don't think Barbara was related to the other Windsors, but I might be wrong.”

“Well, we are driving up first thing in the morning. Leaving at 10.00 and driving up to a Top Class hotel in Earls Court that we booked the day after the great announcement. No expense spared on such a glorious occasion. Shopping in Oxford Street in the afternoon. Up at the crack of dawn on Friday for the Great Day.

The last time that we went to London was for The Queens Golden Jubilee. The day was made special when Barbara Windsor shook my wife¿s hand. Such memories.

It¿s wonderful to get away from home and all these protesters. They will protester about anything in Bristol. They don¿t want a nice new Tesco up Gloucester Road or a Village Green in Bedminster.

So wonderful to get away to a place like London with all the shops and The Royal Family”

“Alex, you made me laugh because despite your claims that the media coverage of the wedding is "not interesting and not important", you were compelled to read it and post a comment! I think more people will be watching it than choose to admit. Hope the dress is better than the creased one Diana had. This country would sadder without its Monarchy and our Queen cannot be faulted - let's hope her shoes are filled eventually (but not yet) by someone with the same qualities and I don't think that will be Camilla but perhaps Kate may be the person.”

“It is not the wedding itself, or indeed the royal family itself I object to. It is the fact you cannot escape the coverage. Every newspaper, TV channel, magazine and shop is trying to cash in somehow on even the most tenuous link to the wedding. At least five different channels will be covering it on the day, no doubt every newspaper (even the EP with no direct Bristol link whatsoeve) will plaster the front pages with it. Judging from the poll above and others that have been undertaken most people couldn't care less so why does the media assume that this is all people want to know about? It's not interesting and it's not important. I will be so happy when Friday is over so things can return to normal.”

“C, Nailsea - why do you think we would have to have a President if we didnt have a monarchy? No need for either. We have an elected government and Prime Minister. Whatever I, and we all, may think of them, that's all we need.”
