Police re-appeal for information as murdered teen would have celebrated birthday
DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Abdirisak Mohamoud are re-appealing for information.
Yesterday, would have been his 19th birthday.
At around 11pm on Thursday, July 8 police were called to Villiers Road, Bristol to reports of a disturbance.
Mr Mohamoud received serious injuries, including a stab wound, and was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary, where he died.
On Wednesday, investigating officers arrested a 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman – who both live locally – on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have been bailed until a later date.
A man arrested on suspicion of murder and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, both remain on police bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones said yesterday: "Investigations are continuing and we are doing everything we can to track down those responsible for this violent crime to bring them to justice.
"This has been a complex and challenging investigation and we require the public's help. CCTV footage is still being examined and a number of people identified have been spoken to. There are still a number a people who are yet to be identified and we need to community's help to do that.
"The family of Abdirisak are extremely upset and are still trying to come to terms with their loss. Today is especially difficult for them as they should be celebrating Abdi's 19th birthday.
"Again, I would urge anyone with information to come forward and contact us, it does not matter how small or insignificant you think that information may be it could be the missing part of the jigsaw. I would also ask anyone who may have been on the Stapleton Road on the night of this incident to contact us."
Mr Mohamoud's mum Zahra Ahmed added: "Today is my son's birthday. I would really appreciate and encourage people to come forward and speak to the police."

“A picture of this young man would be helpful!! How many people do you see on the street but not not know them?
Maybe if there was a picture released of him, someone may recognise his face, and recall seeing something out of the ordinary the night he was brutally murdered.
A name is meaningless when you don't have the face BEP!
May this young man rest in peace, thinking of his family and today on his Birthday and their special religious day Eid.”
