Otis Ferry's girlfriend arrested
The girlfriend of countryside campaigner Otis Ferry has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, police have confirmed.
Francesca Nimmo, 22, was arrested by Gloucestershire Police at 7am on Friday at her home in Lower Bodington, Northamptonshire.
Ferry, 26, the son of rock star Bryan Ferry, is currently in Gloucester Prison awaiting trial for perverting the course of justice.
He is suspected of trying to influence a witness in his original case of assault and robbery.
Nimmo, a student at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, was arrested along with Countryside Alliance official Adrian Simpson, 53, at his home in Haverfordwest, Dyfed, West Wales.
Ferry appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court in May when it was alleged that he stole camera equipment from two women who were monitoring the Heythrop Hunt near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, in November 2007.
He denies all charges.
Nimmo and Simpson have both been granted bail until January 28.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police today said: "A 22-year-old woman from Lower Bodington, Northamptonshire, was arrested at her home address by Gloucestershire Police at around 7am on Friday November 14 on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to an ongoing court case.
"A 53-year-old man from Haverfordwest, Dyfed, was also arrested this morning by Gloucestershire Police at his home address on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and was taken to Haverfordwest Police Station."

“Yes how dare the police follow up investigations into potential perversion of the course of justice when the targets are clearly people who should be above the law? Any more Tory MPs fancy standing up to scream injustice? Surely Daniel Kawczynski's outburst merits investigation in itself from the parliamentary ombudsman; at best it's a staggering declaration of naivety. Then again, he is a Tory...”

“The criminals here are those like Judi Hewitt, who have created a situation, where children are dying, our prisons are full, and our policemen are be forced to waste their precious time arresting previously law abiding people, by this almost fascist state. . How many homes were burgled yesterday? . And how many are still waiting for the Police to attend? . . There is an election coming and the politicians will soon be called to account.”
