Oscar the star turn for Ingleside B in cup win
Saturday Youth League: Oscar Miekus produced a super performance as Ingleside B pipped AEK Boco 3-1 in a tense Bristol Saturday Youth League Cup clash.
Visitors Boco forged in front when a quick counter-attack set them up for an easy opener. Goalkeeper Alan Hinton made a good save but couldn't stop the follow-up shot flying past him.
Ingleside fought back and Curtis Vinall tackled a Boco player inside his own half and ran the length of the pitch to hit a ferocious attempt at goal. Boco keeper Noah Dark was unable to hold the ball and Seamus Burns was on hand to capitalise for Ingleside's equaliser.
Moments later, Reece Matthews finished an excellent run down the right wing with a well-flighted cross, which Burns deftly slotted home.
Ingleside had to defend in the early stages of the second half as Boco pressed for an equaliser but Matthews put the game beyond them by setting up Adam Jama with an exquisite wrongfooting pass to calmly net Ingleside's third goal.
Miekus played in three positions and made each his own to deservedly claim the man-of-the-match spoils.
