Oscar Pistorius denies Reeva Steenkamp murder
South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has strongly rejected a charge he murdered his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
A statement on behalf of the Olympic and Paralympic champion's family and management said he denies the charge in the strongest terms.
Pistorius, 26, was yesterday taken into custody over the killing of Steenkamp, a former FHM model.
The body of the 29-year-old South African model was discovered at the athlete's property in the Silver Woods gated community in eastern Pretoria on Thursday morning.

She had been shot four times in the head, chest and arm. A 9mm pistol was found at the scene.
Appearing today in court in Pretoria, Pistorius wept as prosecutors said they would pursue a charge of premeditated murder.
An application for bail was postponed until next Tuesday and the athlete will remain in police custody.
