Owls boss Brian Laws faces a selection dilemma as he seeks a change in fortunes at Ashton Gate.

Having seen his side torn to shreds at Watford last time out, Laws is promising changes against City.

Sean McAllister, Tommy Miller, Richard Hinds, Frankie Simek, Etienne Esajas and Francis Jeffers all pushed their claims in a reserve- team fixture in midweek.

"It's given me a lot of food for thought," said Laws. "Certainly, in preparing for Saturday's game, a tough game, I'm preparing to make changes. But I'm not going to dismantle my beliefs in our style of play. There's nothing wrong with us going forward. The thing that stands out is that individual errors are costing us dearly."

After losing 3-0 at Derby and 4-1 at Watford in the last two away games, the Owls face a City side who recorded their first away win of the season last Saturday, 3-2 at Barnsley.

Laws added: "Barnsley were unlucky not to score in the first 20 minutes but, after that, Bristol City were comfortable. They got a bit of luck with one of the goals. They were a strong unit, and they have some firepower, but looked vulnerable at times."

Laws would welcome more of the Wednesday attacking flair that took Preston apart in the last home game.

"Our form in the first half of that game was unbelievably good," he said. "One of their scouts said it was the best 45 minutes he'd seen from a Championship side for years."
