Olympic torchbearer to open school’s day of fun for whole community
A day of fun for the whole community is being promised by a school in north Bristol next month.
Orchard School Bristol is hosting its second community fun day, in partnership with Upper Horfield Primary, Filton Avenue Juniors and Filton Avenue Infants, which make up the schools in the One Voice Partnership.

The event will be opened by Olympic torchbearer and paralympic athlete Blair Hannan, a sailor from Bristol.
It will be held at Orchard School Bristol on Thursday, June 28.

Among the attractions are local bands and stalls with everything from cakes and drinks to beat the goalie and other fun events
The event is free and open to the public, and runs from 2pm to 5pm.
Orchard's schools partnership manager Helen Burn said: "Last year we held our first community fun day and it was a great success.
"This year promises to be even better and we want as many people in the community to come along and enjoy all the activities.
"In this Olympic year we are thrilled to have local paralympic athlete Blair Hannan coming along to open the fun day."
