Olympiad for youngsters reaches home straight
PUPILS from Mangotsfield and Downend are set to mark the end of a cultural and sporting Olympiad involving nearly 3,000 youngsters.
Children have been taking part in competitions and tournaments since April, and the final event, at Pomphrey Hill next Thursday will include an Olympic closing ceremony.
Simon Botten, head teacher at Blackhorse Primary School, said: "The event is designed to bring all the children of Mangotsfield and Downend together and give them the thrill of competing at a large Olympic event."
