Old Reds too strong for plucky Old Culverhaysians
Old Reds' Under-13s turned on the style in their first round Combination Plate match against Old Culverhaysians running out 48-0 winners.
Centre Del Sheppard helped himself to four tries as Reds scored eight tries in all. wing Tapiwa Senah, No 8 Mitchell Purcell, flanker Scott Parsons and prop Martin Pirret also crossed for the Brislington club. Ollie Conybeare landed four conversions.
Dings Under-16s are into the last four of the Cup after beating Winscombe 12-0 thanks to tries by Darrel Nickolouski and Ed Solari and a conversion from Mitch Spencer.
But Winscombe's Under-17s faired better in their cup quarter-final against a tough Old Reds outfit to progress 19-5. Will Portas, Joe Bound and Chris Dart all crossed for tries.
St Mary's Under-16s are also through to the semi-finals after a convincing 29-0 victory at Thornbury. Saints' played well in testing conditions scoring tries through Mike Cross, Jo Joyce, Fergus Manners, Stanley Arberry and Reece Villiars with Carl Stephens chipping in with two conversions.
Kingswood and Chipping Sodbury combined at Under-16 level and breezed past Barton Hill 50-7. Ben Shaw and Jake Gent both collected hat-tricks and Jack Hacker and Charlie Spokes also touched down with Shaw and Gent sharing the kicking duties.
Clifton Under-16s went down against Cosham 22-7 with Ollie Hurst's first-half try, converted by Jack Skelton, being the only score for the Henbury club as the visitors took charge in the second half.
Whitehall Under-16s battled past St Brendans to win 12-5 thanks to tries from Mitchell Gorwell and Sean Sweet. Alex 'Forest' Carter notched a conversion
Cheddar Under-14s winning streak was extended to six games after their latest 39-5 triumph against a plucky Stockwood Sharks side. Full-back Sam Balkham led the way with a brace of tries and he was joined on the score sheet by Jamie Ross, Connor Baker, Dan Crane, Dan Dalton and Alex Perkins. Stan Smith slotted two conversions. Ashley Jenkins went over for the Sharks.
Gordano Under-12s pipped North Bristol 19-14 in a well contested match with Drum McMillian, Ben Greenslade and Sam Hodge all scoring tries with Hodge knocking over two conversions.
Tries by Daniel Harris and Alex Stenner, both converted by Lewis Chadwick, were enough to see Frampton Cotterell home against Thornbury.
Broad Plain Colts played well but went down against their Weston counterparts with centre Jack Scott crossing for Plain's try, which flanker Scott Coster converted.
