She has had a long-running radio career and has been one of the most popular panellists on Loose Women since she first appeared in 2003.
She will be granting Aladdin's three wishes between Friday, December 7, and Monday, December 17, inclusive.
She said: "I'm so excited. A lot of my Loose Women pals are panto veterans and have always said what a laugh it is to do so I'm really looking forward to making Aladdin's wishes come true, the poor bloke."
For the later shows in the run she will hand over the lamp to 27-year-old Josie who won the 2010 series of the Channel Four reality programme Big Brother.
Josie will perform as the Genie from Wednesday, December 19, to Sunday, January 6.
Since leaving the infamous house Josie has gone on to forge a successful career in the media, guest presenting on television shows such as OK! TV for Channel 5, Big Brother's Bit on the Side and writing a regular column for Now Magazine. She recently abseiled down the Avon Gorge to raise funds for Meningitis UK.
She said: "I am looking forward to representing my beautiful home town of Bristol by playing the Genie in this year's panto. I've never imagined I would be appearing on stage there so it's a real dream come true."
Returning comedian Andy will star as Aladdin's hapless brother Wishee Washee, marking his 43rd year in show business.
He said: "In my fourth consecutive Christmas in this wonderful city I consider myself very fortunate, it's like coming home."
Performances are 2pm and 7pm except Sundays, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve at 1pm and 5.pm. There are no performances 11,18,25 December 2012 or 1 January 2013.

“Carol McGiffin looks nothing like the person I last saw on tv a few years ago - she had more wrinkles than an elephants backside. She's either been airbrushed, had some amazing surgery or the photo has been ironed.
Nothing wrong with a few wrinkes sowhy the need to change the photo to that degree. Its just embarassing (Almost as embarassing as admitting to knowing who she is!!!)”

“Three wishes? No, just one.
May these irritating women disappear from my TV and do something useful with their lives...”

“Much better idea is to go to the Old Vic for Peter Pan.”

“Oh dear is this the best we can do? Josie Gibson is someone I can not abide so I will have to book when Carol mcGiffin is on even though I usually like to go more towards Xmas. I will NOT be taking my children to see Josie Gibson knowing her reputation round here.”

“@Lone_Ranger
The point is moot anyway as I didn't claim Josie was from Bristol. I merely pointed out she was a great ambassador for the city. I am a great ambassador for parts of Cornwall and Scotland but I've never done more than taken holidays in either of them.
@maryjpj
I also have an opinion which you criticised. Do you mind if I recommend you don't give it if you can't take it.”

“Ashby Courier Services - "Westerleigh is indeed in South Glos but it is still Bristol. Kingswood is also in South Glos. is that not Bristol either?"
No, neither Westerleigh nor Kingswood is in Bristol. Yes they both have BS postcodes but that's solely for the convenience of the Post Offcie.
Weston-Super-Mare and Clevedon both have BS postcodes and they're not in Bristol either.”

“Well now Josie is confirmed we won't be attending. Hardly think someone who openly admitted on tv and in print to using a taser on an ex boyfriend is suitable for a family show. She is hardly an ambassador for Bristol, she only moved back when her London work ran dry and she has mentioned wanting to move to Brighton on Twitter. She sells her soul in a weekly rag and won BB because all her competition was got rid of in a mass eviction before the final. Disappointed with the line up but Josie being involved is too much. *awaits the muckers reporting all negative Josie comments*”

“Also, I know it's pedantic, but she's from Westerleigh.
Last time I checked, that was quite far into South Gloucestershire, not Bristol.”
