Obituary: The life of Bristolian Nicholas Wong
The life of Nicholas Ellison Wong:
BORN: August 31, 1972
DIED: December 8
PARTNER: Jo Wilson
CHILDREN: Tommy and Isabel
A man who loved nothing more than spending time with his friends and family has died after a short illness.
Nicky Wong grew up in the Easton and Whitehall areas of Bristol with his mum Pauline, brother Andrew and sister Simone.
Always up to mischief with Andrew, the two once left maggots in their mum's car, meaning she couldn't use it for a week because of the flies. A floor-layer by trade, Nicky loved nothing more than being with his friends and family, especially his cousin Darren, Justin, Kristian and Alexis.
He loved the summer months, when he would host barbecues, and also enjoyed local festivals, particularly Glastonbury. Nicky also enjoyed snowboarding, travelling, meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
He died last week, leaving behind Jo, Tommy and Isabel.
Partner Jo said: "Nicky was one in a million, an amazing dad and a great partner, a real family man.
"Nicky was loved by many, but none more so than by me, Tommy and Isabel. He was a lovely, lovely man and he will be sorely missed and is still greatly loved, and always will be."
Nicky's funeral will take place on Monday at 10am at South Bristol Crematorium, followed by a celebration of his life at South Bristol Sports Centre, the Imperial Club, on West Town Lane in Brislington.
Family flowers only, donations can be made to Childline, through the NSPCC.
