The extent of support for the British National Party in the Bristol area has been revealed following the leak of a full membership list.

A document containing the personal details of more than 12,000 supporters of the far-right group across the country was made public on an internet blog.

Among the members are 182 people living in the greater Bristol area, including businessmen, a housing worker, an Army reservist, building site manager and several former servicemen.

Several teenagers in the Bristol area are listed as BNP members, the youngest a 16-year-old girl.

The highest concentration of support for the party is in Fishponds, Kingswood, Weston-super-Mare and Hartcliffe.

However, there are several members living in areas predominantly occupied by ethnic minorities, such as Easton and Eastville.

Details including members' hobbies, interests, skills, and donations are listed on the leaked document alongside addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers.

The list also highlights where entire families are members of the party, including parents and their teenage children.

The document was removed from an internet blog earlier today after complaints by the BNP.

The party's spokesman Simon Darby said they had contacted bosses at a company involved with the blog to warn them of the consequences if it was not taken down.

Some members were listed as former police officers and members of the armed forces.

Police are banned from becoming members of the BNP because it would damage race relations, according to the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo).

In a statement on the party's website, BNP leader Nick Griffin said the list is just over a year old.

He said: "Having spent a lot of money to secure our members' privacy, we are disappointed that it's been breached."

He described the publication as "a disgraceful act of treachery" and initially accused former BNP staff members who have been sacked.

According to the BNP, the published list is based on its 2007 membership list although a number of names of people who were not, or are not, party members had allegedly been added.

Earlier this year, the party said it obtained an injunction at the High Court in Manchester banning any publication of the list.

“Look up the word "Hypocrisy", hypocrite, as you obviously haven't a clue what it means as you so beautifully display in your latest rambling!

Why do you have such an inferiority complex?

Jog on son and try to do something usefull with your life.”

“Fireman sam - You are the cretin..

You keep calling me a hypocrite, but have no evidence to support this claim.

    You angry little Maggot.”

“"Oh dear Fireman Sam, you are an angry individual, aren't you?!

There was no quote to that effect, because I did not say it - and you know this full well..

The only good thing about the BNP:
It's existence acts as a reminder to the educated electorate of the evil lurking in our society.

Unrelated to that, are you a member of the BNP? Because you do seem to have twisted views about leftism and open-minded liberalism. Do you not like people having different politcal agendas?

Thankfully we live in a democratic, free society, whrere freedom of speech is allowed, the very thing the BNP want to obliterate..

Don't hate so much, it's clouding your judgement."

As I said, cretin, you are a non-person. Angry? No. Amazed at your hypocrisy? Yes.

"Democratic and free"? As long as we agree with your views.

As I have said, hypocrite, i'm an altruistic type of chap and don't put myself above others, but you are the exception. i hope I never have the misfortune to meet you, either professionally or socially, hypocrite.”

“"Fireman Sam, Where did I say I wanted to gag the BNP??

If you can find a quote where I said this then I'll give you a big shiny badge!!
Now haven't you got some fires to put out, or kitties to rescue"

Don't patronise me, you left wing hypocrite, you aren't big enough, and don't you DARE try to bring my profession into it. "One kittie" (sic) rescued is more worth to society than you have probably contributed in your miserable, hypocritical lifetime. You know exactly what you and your ilk are trying to achieve, and the quote has been removed from the other thread as you well know. So, you can shove your "shiny badge" right up your rusty sherrifs' one, can't you? Now, hypocrite, jog on and try to do something usefull with your life, rather than stir up trouble on a "right wing" newspapers website. Try reading the "Guardian", or "Socialist Worker". I'm sure a few people on here could come up things for you to do.

I'm a fairly altruistic person, hence my chosen profession, but people like you make me wonder why. You are a non-person as far as I'm concerned. I hope I never have the misfortune to meet you, either professionally or socially.”

    Don't make wild accusations.”

“Funny how you love freedom and democracy, yet want to gag a legitimate, legal political party, critisize the very platform that allows you to spout your leftist claptrap and advocate law breaking with your views on cycling, which give the majority of cyclists a bad name.
Hypocrite, nothing more, nothing less. As I have said, you ought to have a serious look at yourself in the mirror.

    Like what you see?”

    “"...freedom and democracy"

Something left wing hypocrites like Alex advocates - until you disagree with their views. The irony of the left wing is something else.”
