In order to celebrate the Olympic Torch arrival in Bristol on 22nd May the North Somerset group of U3A's are organising a Walkathon.

The U3A's are self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for older people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications, but for fun.

The Bristol & Chew Valley U3A walking groups will organise the sections from Blagdon to Millennium Square as follows:

Friday 30th March - Blagdon to Winford - 5.5 miles

Friday 4th May - Winford to Long Ashton - 5.5 miles

Tuesday 22nd May - Long Ashton to Millennium Square - 6 miles

The event is open to all U3A members and started in Wells on 7th February 2012 when the mayor & town crier sent us on our way.
