Yeovil Town skipper Terry Skiverton believes the club must keep Gifton Noel-Williams on loan from Millwall for another month.

The centre forward has not scored in his four weeks with the Glovers but Skiverton insists the former Watford man has given the team a new dimension, forming a promising partnership with Luke Rodgers.

Noel-Williams' month is up tomorrow but his stay at Huish Park can be extended until the January transfer window.

Manager Russell Slade is keen to do the deal but the matter, as ever, is in the hands of the club's board of directors.

If Noel-Williams is allowed to return to the New Den, Yeovil will face four key festive fixtures with a limited range of forward options as no fresh loan signings can be made until next month.

"He has done very well for us," said Skiverton. "He has been a good targetman and now we have got Luke Rodgers they have started to link up and have an understanding."

"So it will be important to keep him and fingers crossed on that one because we need all hands on deck at the moment."

It is vital we have as many as possible to help lift us up the league."

Saturday's 0-0 League One draw at Hartlepool, which kept the Glovers in the relegation zone, was the first time Rodgers and Noel-Williams had started together. Slade will this week assess right back Craig Alcock's fitness after he limped off with a knee injury at Victoria Park.

On Saturday, the Glovers entertain Stockport County and will be looking for a measure of revenge after the Manchester side recently thrashed them 5-0 in an FA Cup replay.

Yeovil's home game with Scunthorpe has been moved from January 3 to Tuesday, January 6, because the Iron have an FA Cup tie on the original date.
