Noah's Ark Zoo Farm's big cats start the new year with a novel workout
BIG cats at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in Wraxall found an unusual use for its Christmas tree.
First Tanvir the tiger and then Zulu and Masai the African lion brothers enjoyed time sniffing and scratching the Christmas tree, which was hung upside down in the their enclosures.
Keepers watched as Tanvir pawed and shook the tree and later the lions grabbed and ripped in excitement at the strange new object in their home.
Emma Godsell, big cat keeper at the zoo, said: "Our tigers and lions had a fun afternoon exploring our Christmas tree in their separate enclosures, which due to its strong pine smell got them all very excited.

"The pawing and ripping at the tree is good exercise for the big cats and is a novel way to enrich their day, and recycle our lovely tree."
