Nick handed England Under-19s job
Nick Beedel, the Colston's School groundsman, has been appointed the England Under-19 indoor cricket coach.
Nick was appointed to the role just before Christmas and held his first England training session with players from around the country, including a Colston's cricketer.
Beedel has played the indoor version of the game for the last two years at Action Sports, Whitchurch, and coaches the Bristol Under-19 side. Nick is also an umpire for the game.
Part of Beedel's role will be to select a squad for the World Cup, in Australia, this October.
Beedel said: "This is going to be a hard task as all the boys at the first session were at a good standard and I have had phone calls from more boys wanting to try and get in the team.
"They will be attending the next trial in Wolverhampton on January 25.
"This role will help me get more experience in coaching cricket, as I enjoy teaching and helping younger players with their games."
