YOUNGSTERS were introduced to some furry friends during an event organised by a Kingswood charity.

Jessie May, which provides respite support for the families of children with life-limiting illnesses and conditions, holds sessions for youngsters and their siblings to attend. And yesterday they were joined by visitors from Newfound Friends – the organisation that helps charities with visits from the giant dogs and fundraising events. Jessie May, which helps children across the Bristol area, will be joining forces with Newfound Friends again next year to give people the chance to take part in sponsored rescues from Portishead Marina.

Head of fundraising at Jessie May, Julian Withers, said: "The children enjoyed getting up close with the big, furry dogs.

"Our work with Newfound Friends will continue next year when people can be rescued by them."
