New £2 million recycling centre awaits approval
PLANS for a new £2 million recycling centre in south Bristol are expected to be approved by cabinet councillors next week.
The site in Hartcliffe Way has become available because waste operator May Gurney is moving to a new base in St Philip's.
The new centre, which will be open seven days a week, will mean householders from south Bristol will not have to take their recycling and waste across the city to Days Road in St Philip's.
Lib Dem cabinet councillor Gary Hopkins, pictured, said: "The size of the site will give room for residents to be able to recycle 30 types of waste."
