New groups run health budgets
THE new groups who will take control of healthcare budgets have been authorised.
Clinical commissioning groups will take over key decisions about funding of hospital, community and mental health services from April 1.

Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset CCGs have now been authorised as statutory bodies ahead of the transfer. In Bristol the CCG will have a budget of £534 million to pay for services for 447,0000 people, while in South Gloucestershire the group will have a budget of £255 million.
Chairman of the Bristol CCG, Martin Jones, said: "This is a great vote of confidence in Bristol CCG and our GP members by the NHS Commissioning Board, following a rigorous assessment that demonstrated our capacity and capability across a wide range of challenging areas."
