New group for scouts formed
A NEW scout group has been formed in Emersons Green.
It is a first for the area, and has been formed by parents and residents who were eager to provide adventurous opportunities for children.
Long waiting list for nearby groups prompted its creation.
The new group, run completely by volunteers, is made up of two beaver colonies and two cub packs.

The group, based at Emersons Green Primary School, does not have enough volunteers to be able to run a scout pack, but members are hoping this will change in the future.
Lucinda Noble, chairman of Emersons Green 1st Scout Group, said: "We hope to provide the facilities and equipment to make this an exciting adventure for local children.
"All of the children are extremely excited to be taking part, and we hope this can continue."
The group is holding a launch event on Sunday, February 3 at Emersons Green Village Hall from 3pm to 5pm and are inviting local residents and businesses.
The new beavers and cubs will be "invested" into the Scout Group and there will be refreshments, games, a raffle. Anyone who is interested in volunteering or sponsoring the group, should contact Lucinda Noble on 07766838191.
