BUS timetable changes will take effect in south Bristol from Monday.

Independent operator Abus Ltd is reducing the frequency of the 57 service – which runs between Stockwood and Broadmead and the city centre, via Brislington and the Bath Road – from every 30 minutes during the day to every hour.

The revised service will leave Stockwood at 45 minutes past each hour in the morning and leave the centre at five minutes past each hour, from 10.05am until 5.05pm. Extra journeys will operate at 4.35pm and 5.35pm.

Abus managing director Alan Peters said the main reason for the reduction in frequency was the "low level" of reimbursement for pensioners' free travel.

This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.

The Abus 349 service from Keynsham to Bristol will be changed to provide a 30-minute frequency between 8am and 6pm.

This service will be extended in Bristol to The Horsefair to serve Cabot Circus and journeys will leave the Horsefair and Temple Street, Keynsham, at 12 minutes and 42 minutes past each hour.

A Saturday service will also be introduced at the same frequency.
