New boys Mendip get the champagne flowing
The champagne corks were popping at Dundry after Mendip United's 2-0 win against Hartcliffe clinched the Premier Division title at the first attempt for last season's Division I champions.
Hartcliffe played well in a goalless first half and stayed on equal terms until the 70th minute when Dean Maggs finally broke the deadlock.

Mendip clung to their narrow lead and Dale Attiwell headed the second goal in the closing minutes to end Hartcliffe's hopes of a point.
"I was glad to see Dale's header go in so we could start the celebrations with a couple of bottles of champagne, then go for a few pints," said Mendip manager Richard O'Connor.
Mendip secretary Andy Phipps confirmed that the club had applied for promotion to the Gloucestershire County League. But he has been informed that the pitch and facilities at Filwood Park are not up to the required standard at present.
In-form Nicholas Wanderers boosted their bid to finish in second place with a 2-1 home victory against Pucklechurch Sports.
Substitute Jack Little, who replaced the injured Paul Nunn, fired Wanderers ahead in the first half.
Jon Scrase doubled the score midway through the second half before Ben Gardiner replied in a late fightback by the visitors which just failed to produce an equaliser.
Talbot Knowle bounced back to form with a 4-2 home success against inconsistent Hallen Reserves, who meet Henbury Reserves in the final of the GFA Senior Amateur Cup at Oaklands Park tonight.
Mark Leigh struck twice for Talbot, whose other marksmen were Jack White and Frank Gingell. Alan Dill and Chris Douglas were on target for Hallen.
Bitton Reserves crashed 2-0 at Brimsham Green, who will finish in the bottom two with Highridge Reserves after a run of disappointing results.
