Marks and Spencer will create 146 jobs at its new Longwell Green store when it opens later this month.

The store, on the Longwell Green retail park, opens on April 23.

The store will include clothing departments and a homeware section including kitchen, bedroom and bathroom accessories. The food hall includes an in-store bakery and there will also be an 80-seat cafe.

The store is designed to be eco-friendly with 80 per cent of all construction waste materials being recycled. Rob Whiskerd, store manager, said: "The Longwell Green Retail Park is a fantastic location for our new store, which is set to provide customers and staff with the chance to shop and work in an excellent environment."

It comes after Marks & Spencer announced it was shutting its Harbourside store earlier this year, with the loss of 20 jobs. It has stores in Broadmead, Cribbs Causeway, Weston-super-Mare and a simply Food at Avonmeads, St Philip's.
