New Currys and PC World store in Bristol
Electrical retailers Currys and PC World have opened a joint superstore in Cribbs Causeway in Bristol – creating 81 new jobs.
The 70,000 sq ft megastore follows the expansion of the Currys outlet, which was originally 40,000 sq ft.
PC World has closed its former branch at the retail park, with staff transferring to the joint venture.
The two shops, which are owned by the same group, had 70 staff between them before they joined forces, and the new superstore now has 151 staff in total.

Both stores have their own logos on the front of the newly expanded premises.
The new store showcases more than 7,000 products including TVs, more than 100 digital cameras, around 70 MP3/4 players, various styles of fridges and freezers, and large displays of netbooks, laptops and PCs for sale, as well as technical support and business areas.
The previous PC World store hit the headlines in 1997, when staff there discovered child pornography images on the computer of pop star Gary Glitter and called in the police.
Their action led to Glitter's arrest and subsequent jailing in 1999 after he admitted possessing indecent images of children.
Peter Thomas, store director, said: "The new two-in-one megastore in Bristol brings together the best from both Currys and PC World and offer shoppers a great range of consumer electronics.
"The store opening is also a huge boost to the local economy, with 81 new jobs created."

“Listen you gullible lot, it's not a 'story', or even journalism. It's an advert posing as news. The owners of PC World & Curry's pay the BEP to print this commercial as news.”
