Nailsea Miners Rotary Club Recruits Its Newest Member
As a part of the membership drive for the fledging Nailsea Miners Rotary Club Maporilla, the Stanfords Travel Gorilla has been given honorary membership of the club.
Maporilla was commissioned by Caroline Bowler, Manager of Stanfords Map and Travel Bookshop in Corn Street, Bristol and has been painted by artist Rebecca Howard who previously designed the Green Map for Alastair Sawday's book, Bristol: A Guide to Good Living. Maporilla forms the competition being run by Stanfords and can be yours by entering the competition either in store or on the Stanfords web site, with the winner being drawn just before Christmas.

New Nailsea Miners Rotary club recruit Maporilla being painted by Rebecca Howard.
Della Hudson, President of the 'provisional' Nailsea Miners Rotary Group said 'We're delighted that Maporilla has been able to join us. Maporilla is a colourful character in more ways than one and we feel that as a rotary group looking to attract a younger membership he will help to demonstrate we're something a little different from the norm.'
People interested in joining should contact Alison Hull on 0777 361 3510 or email thehulls@btopenworld.com. Alternatively drop into The George at Backwell at 7.45pm on a Tuesday evening.
