FOLK fans filled Bristol with merriment and good cheer during the city's popular folk festival.

Organiser Jan Ayers said the good weather meant that more people than ever were able to enjoy the revelry.

The Colston Hall was transformed into a bustling centre of concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, sessions and impromptu jams.

Ms Ayers said highlights included sold-out gigs by Newton Faulkner and Cara Dillon, as well as the amount of Morris dancers who entertained crowds outside the venue.
