Bristol Under-18 Combination: Tom Murray cracked a super hat-trick as Division A pacesetters Stoke Lane came away from Hanham Athletic Youth 5-1 victors.

The game began cagily, with Lane playing into the headwind and strong low sun. But as the players grew accustomed to the adverse conditions, it improved greatly.

Josh Martin, playing in an unusual centre-back position, opened the scoring for Stoke Lane with a header following a long throw from man-of-the-match Gareth Plant.

Hanham rallied and strung together some fluent passing moves, resulting in an equaliser for Max Hartley.

Stoke Lane keeper Matt Griffiths made a fantastic save just before half-time to keep his side on level. terms as Hanham threatened to go in front.

But with the conditions in their favour after the break, Lane took charge. David Brown scored early on with a spectacular solo effort before more lengthy Plant throw-ins led to two headed goals by Murray, who went on to complete his triple with a terrific solo effort.

Almondsbury made it an impressive 12 wins out of 12 in the Gloucestershire Division with a 3-0 victory over Bishops Cleeve, although they were made to fight all the way by opponents who packed their midfield and defence.

For 60 minutes the game plan worked, helped by some good goalkeeping. But Almondsbury finally broke the deadlock with a six-yard Josh Baker finish.

Five minutes later, Ashley Knight made it 2-0 before Shaun Coles sealed the win in a high-standard contest.
