Murder inquiry launched after Bristol stabbing
Police have launched a murder inquiry after the death of a teenager in Bristol.
The 17-year-old was stabbed in the chest during a fight outside a pub in St George and died later in hospital.
A 23-year-old man was also taken to hospital with injuries which were described as not serious. He was later released into police custody to help officers with their inquiries.
Two other men, one aged 18 and the other 20, are also being questioned by detectives.
The incident happened at about 1am today outside the World's End pub in Clouds Hill Road, which was closed at the time.
Inspector Julie Bowle said: "A young man needlessly lost his life in this tragic incident. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family at this very difficult time.
"There are a number of lines of inquiry that the investigation team are pursuing to establish the motive behind this incident. It is imperative that we find out exactly what happened.
"A number of people were present outside the pub between 12.30am and 1.30am. It is crucial that we speak to all those people as they may have vital information that may be able to help police with this investigation.
"We have a number of officers working on this investigation and a designated incident room has been set up for anyone who may have information that could help."
