Julian Jones: Moving, finding a flat and running the half-marathon
HEART OF THE MATTER
In his first regular column for The Post, the new Heart Drivetime presenter Julian Jones wonders why everything happens all at once.

SO, I'm the new boy at Heart and it's taken me a few weeks to get myself sorted and properly settled in. As is standard for a bloke, I'm very last minute and have the theory 'Ah all will be fine in the end' but then panic when it doesn't pan out that way!
Finding a place to live for example; This seems a simple enough task, but after viewing a number of places around Bristol and getting advice from everyone for the best area to live, it took much longer than expected. Why do people move home? It is so stressful!
This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.

So, after living out of a suitcase in a number of hotels and in a friend's back bedroom for a few weeks, I think I might be sorted. Believe me, when you are as indecisive as I am, this is a monumental decision! Checks done, security deposits paid, area and neighbours vetted, I think I'm good. Well, no going back now. All that needs to be done now is to move all my stuff down to the West Country, to make my new pad homely… only now have I realised how much rubbish I have acquired! Why did I buy all this stuff? Where did I put it all? A good de-clutter is next on the list.
Moving in day is this weekend, it should be fine: in between my shows on Heart, oh and doing the Bristol half-marathon! Do you ever wonder why things all happen at once? I guess it's to keep the adrenalin running; keep you on your toes, or allow you to make a complete fool of yourself and then your friends ask 'Why have you got yourself into a mess again?' Notice the word 'again' – this might be a running theme through my life.
One day I might just learn to do things the easy way… then again, maybe not.
