Motorist rescued after car plunges down embankment on M5 in North Somerset

Firefighters cut free a motorist after their car ploughed down an embankment on the M5.

Two crews from Weston-super-Mare and one from Clevedon were called to the crash at 7.45pm yesterday on the northbound carriageway between junctions 21 and 20.

They used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the casualty who was then treated by paramedics.
