Motorist dies in Avonmouth road smash
A driver has been killed in a horrific two-car crash in Avonmouth.
The man was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta which was in collision with a Volkswagen Touareg at 6.20pm yesterday on the A403 Smoke Lane.

Fire crews and paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people in the Touareg suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for several hours while the scene was examined.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary said a family liaison officer had been appointed to support the relatives of the victim.
Witnesses are asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101.

I can't imagine a horrific crash between two cars at 25mph. So clearly speed was a factor in this case. It may not have caused the crash, but it made the result worse.”
