Chippenham's Stephen Sword was the leading British rider in the 250cc class in the British Motocross Grand Prix at Mallory Park in Leicestershire on Sunday.

The KTM star finished 13th in the first 20-lap race and sixth in the second race.

British Classic Bike motocross champion Andy Robertson suffered a hiccup in the first round of the new series staged by the Bath club at Yatton Keynell on Sunday.

He crashed on the first lap and it was back to square one, but he gained places to eventually finish fifth.

Jason Hamblin was an easy winner of the BSSA's timed and observation trial in Filers Woods, Backwell Hill near Lulsgate.

Tim Wheeler, Matt Mullen and Tim Budd all retained clean sheets in the Bath Classic Club's trial at the Motocross venue on Saturday evening which was decided over four laps of ten sections.
