Moseley v Bristol Rugby - Moseley in the spotlight
Moseley, like Bristol Rugby's most recent opponents Nottingham, benefit from having a dual-registration agreement with a Guinness Premiership club.
Where Nottingham regularly dip into Leicester's vast talent pool, Moseley are able to pick players from Gloucester, with Tristan Roberts, Dan Williams, Rupert Harden, Charlie Simpson-Daniel and Jonny May among those to have turned out in red and black this season.
And Jack Adams and Dan Norton, two first-team regulars at Bristol, benefited greatly from the experience they gained on loan at Moseley last season while they were on Gloucester's books.
Yet while Nottingham sit comfortably in the promotion play-off places, Moseley's only hope of avoiding the relegation battle is to beat Bristol tomorrow.
The Birmingham side lie two points adrift of eighth-placed Plymouth Albion – who travel to Doncaster tomorrow – but the Devon club have a better points difference.
And Moseley, who are in ninth place, will face the dreaded relegation play-offs if they remain in their current position.
Their recent form, however, has been poor, with their last victory coming at Rotherham on January 30.
Since then, they have lost against Bedford in both the league and British & Irish Cup, Welsh sides Llanelli and Aberavon in the cup and Exeter in the league.
But they gave Bristol a run for their money at the Memorial Stadium in October before eventually going down 19-9 – and have shown at various times this season that they can be difficult opponents.
If he plays, Bristol will be well aware of the threat of 22-year-old Roberts at fly-half. He has scored 189 points for Moseley in the Championship this season.
In Nathan Bressington and Justin Mensah-Coker, Moseley have two predatory wingers, while Ally Muldowney is regarded as one of the finest second-row forwards outside the Premiership.
